We hope everyone is doing well.
At our office, we have been taking a bit of a cautious approach with any clients sitting on cash. We have been employing a Dollar Cost Averaging strategy trying to get the money in over the next 5 or 6 months. Unfortunately, we do not know when we have hit market peaks or market valleys. By employing a DCA strategy you have a better than average chance of catching the valleys.
We think it is a good time to be looking at the markets and take advantage of the volatility. The experience that Covid taught us in March of 2020 was to be courageous when others are fleeing – those courageous souls were rewarded handsomely for the balance of 2020 and 2021.
Just a reminder, signing up to Manulife.ca allows you to keep track of your account online and access any tax documents, statements at your convenience.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns or if you would like an account statement, please call our office.
Take care,
BTR Financial Planning Team – Bryan, Preston, (Gloria), Shannon and Candice.

The first few months of 2022 have been rough for investors. wo major events have put additional pressure on markets: War in Ukraine and the U.S. Central Bank Policy. Global stocks fell while bonds increased. Looking for a ‘glass half full’ after a tough month for markets*
We've included this article entitled “Looking for a ‘glass half full’ after a tough month for markets”, as we thought it was a great article reviewing the events that created the downward pressure on the markets but also provides the other side of the coin – “the glass half full” scenario. Kristina Hooper (Invesco Canada) looks back at five issues that pressured markets in April and explores the “glass half full” moments she sees that give me some optimism for the months ahead.
